Anna Marie’s Alliance continues to provide essential services for people seeking safety from domestic violence/relationship abuse. We have made appropriate changes during this COVID-19 pandemic. The changes are in place until further notice. 1) COVID-19 related questions have been added to our screening process for both emergency shelter and community advocacy services. 2) We will continue to assist people with Orders for Protection but will meet in a space where 6 feet of separation is available. 3) Group safety planning class is suspended. 4) The domestic violence/relationship abuse survivors support group for community members is suspended. We are researching remote or virtual meeting options. 5) Prevention and education programming in schools and the community has been suspended. 6) Volunteer work shifts are suspended. 7) On-scene advocates will provide initial services via telephone.
We continue to work with all of our community partners to provide the wrap around services and support that helps set people up for success. We also appreciate the ongoing community support we are receiving during this time. For ideas on how you can help please check our web and social media sites. As always, if you are experiencing domestic violence/relationship abuse and you need emergency shelter or you just want to talk with someone about your options; our 24-hour hotline is available at 320-253-6900.
We sincerely hope each of you are happy and most importantly, healthy.
Anna Marie’s Alliance is taking every precaution we can to keep everyone in and out of our shelter happy and healthy. The shelter and offices are being cleaned as often as possible. Staff and residents are reminded to wash their hands for at least 20 seconds, cough or sneeze into their elbows, and stay home if they are sick. Residents who are ill may be asked to spend time in their rooms so they do not spread any illness.
We want to keep all the women and children in the shelter safe and healthy. So for the next few weeks we ask that you do not come to visit. We do need some items such as toilet paper, hand sanitzer, and cleaning supplies. Please bring them to the Center for Family Peace, ring the bell and we will wave at you. Thank you.
Nurse Lori and our leadership team are keeping doing their best to keep up-to-date on the latest news about Covid 19 and to plan for all contingencies.
Thank you for helping us provide safety in so many ways.
