“The most difficult thing a woman can do is open the door to the shelter.” Anna Marie’s Alliance Advocate
We are getting ready for Phase 2 of our construction plan. In this phase we are looking to expand our child care center to include a Learning Center for children 6 and older, remodel the entrance to make it a better experience for those who open our door for the first time, and upgrade our dining area to make mealtimes a better experience for residents and staff.
Phase 3 and 4 will include the construction of efficiency apartments for residents and the remodel of the current rooms into efficiency apartments. Efficiency apartments will provide residents with more independence, a chance to share family time, the opportunity to prepare their own meals, and some private time. The current shelter is a communal living facility, this can be difficult for victims of trauma. As a best practice, we are moving to efficiency apartments for the residents of Anna Marie’s Shelter.
If you would like to find out more… contact us! We would appreciate the opportunity to share our plans with you and show you the Center for Family Peace.
We would not be able to do this work without a generous and supportive community. Thank you to our donors who have made this dream a reality.
